Net-Zero vs organic farming – the soil recovery!

The small farm are growing vegetables and fruits, without the use of any chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. The farm concentrated on a variety of local vegetables including cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, long beans, radish, eggplants, mustard and spinach. It try also growing tropical fruits like papaya and banana. Within a few years, possibly much to the surprise of some cynics, the farm was flourishing enough to be doing direct sales and even retailing its produce through two supermarkets.

Today, the farms are closing because competition by big industrial farms, who use the pestisides and agresively fertilizers. But only to launch a new know–how — how to recover the soil for better and larger yield is the solution to fight them economically. The Agrika decided that with the limited resources of the small farmers, it has to spread the good philosophy and practice of organic farming and soil ciltivating. The practical experiences learnt need to be shared and transfered to the farms worldwide, more so when there is an urgent need to increase the quality and quantity of organic production on the World market.

Objectives

The main objectives of the Agrika’ VOLKSGRUN Project are to demonstrate the viability of organic farming by stabilizing and optimization of the soil structure including:
  • the conservation of resources (fuels, oil);
  • the need for changes in fertilizing of the soil.

The current phase of the Project focuses on sharing our experiences with farmers, distributors and farms owners.
Sought to cultivate an appreciation of farming (especially organic farming) while being a practical contribution to the national effort to be self–sufficient in food;
and 2nd : Allowed the development and application of ecologically sound agricultural practices as well as the utilization of renewable energy systems.
